Readings from the New American Bible Revised Edition. Used in the USA.

Readings from the New Jerusalem Bible. Used in most English speaking countries.

COMMENTARIES ON THE FIRST READING: Isaiah 49:3, 5-6. See the Catechism on Expectation of the Messiah and His Spirit: (CC C711-716). The Suffering Servant Songs reveal the Messiah’s characteristics (CCC 713). God’s salvation intended for all nations (CCC 64)
